Happy 36th Birthday, Sylvia - March 12, 2007

Sylvia and Michael traveled from The Dalles to Portland to celebrate Sylvia's birthday this year. They got to our place Friday evening late, but we still had some time to visit before going to bed.

While the rest of us slept in on Saturday morning, Michael got up early and went to the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge is located at the northern end of the Willamette Valley near Sherwood, Oregon. The concept of creating the refuge originated from local citizens, cities, and governments, so it enjoys strong popular support, stemming from a desire to preserve green space where future generations can take part in outdoor recreation and education.

When Michael returned, Sylvia, Michael and I spent some time at Home Depot looking at some new window coverings. They are in the process of picking out some blinds for their new home. No decisions were made, but we had fun checking things out to see what was available.

Then we drove into Tualatin to Schlotzsky's to enjoy a delicious "Original" sandwich before returning home. Yummy, they are the best sandwiches!! Michael and Sylvia then ventured out and explored a few stores in the area. While they were exploring, I managed to get most of Sylvia's birthday dinner put together. Her birthday dinner consisted of grilled steaks, baked potatoes and a salad. After dinner, she opened her birthday gift and we enjoyed a piece of "Better Then Sex" birthday cake.

Sunday they stopped by the Rogue Ales Public House on Flanders Street in Portland. The Rogue Ales Public House is located in the heart of Portland's Historic Brewing District in the Pearl. After enjoying a delicious birthday lunch, they returned to The Dalles.
