Canadian Geese

Rocke and I enjoyed watching the Canadian Geese roam around in the park.

Canada Geese have a black head and neck, a broad white chin strap and a brown body. They are midsized between ducks and swans and enjoy both water and land.

There are many races of Canada Geese, ranging from the Mallard-sized 'cackling' race to giant Canada Geese that may weigh up to 5 kilograms (11 pounds). In winter the races might mingle, but Canada Geese mate for life and are faithful to their breeding grounds. The young geese, called goslings, stay with their parents throughout their first year of life.
