Fairy Lantern

Rocke got this picture of a Fairy Lantern along side the trail. A pretty, delicate looking flower.

Fairy Lantern: (Prosartes smithii) A perennial generally up to one foot tall. Closely related to fairy bells (Prosartes hookeri). Leaves alternate, oval to lance-shaped with pointed tips, and smooth. Flowers white and dangling most often as a pair, stamens do not protude. Flowers April through mid-May.
