North Falls

Easy access from North Falls Trail head. Three block walk, but the 88 steps (with hand rail) may restrict some hikers. Hike under, through the spectacular amphitheater created behind this waterfall. Experience the natural focusing of the sound some have described as similar to the powerful roar of 747 aircraft engines. Feel the presence that drew the Native American's to this special ceremonial place. Look up to the ceiling for the unusual perspective of a lava cast forest viewed from the roots upward. Rest briefly on the log benches and watch the falls before continuing on. These totally unique falls plunge 136 feet.
