2 pkgs. frozen broccoli
1/4 cup of butter
2 med onions chopped
1 glove garlic chopped
1 cup of celery chopped
1/2 cup flour
4 cups of whole milk
4 cups of chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon marjoram
salt and pepper to taste
Large pan, melt butter and saute onions, celery and garlic until golden brown. Stir in flour. Gradually add milk, broth and herbs. Stir over low heat til thickens slightly and bubbles.
Add cooked drained broccoli, salt and pepper and continue cooking til piping hot. Add cheese. May serve with sprinkled finely chopped ripe tomatoes.
