CHILI CON CARNE

1 lg (30 oz) can small red beans
1 lg (30 oz) can tomatoes
1 lg onion, cubed (or dried onion flakes)
1 med green pepper, chopped
1 lb lean ground beef
1 1/2 tsp salt
3 whole cloves
1 bay leaf
1 to 2 tbs chili powder
Dash paprika
Dash cayenne pepper (optional)

Brown onion, green pepper & meat together in large 3-qt pan. Add tomatoes & seasonings.

Simmer 2 hrs, adding water if necessary. Drain juice from beans in a collander, add beans to chili mix, and heat thoroughly. (Serves 6)
