NANA'S FRUIT CAKE COOKIE

4 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
dash salt
1/2 lb dates
1 lb pecans (4 cups)
1/2 lb candied cherries
1/2 lb candied pineapple

Mix together real good. Cook on cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes then at 275 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool slightly in pan before cutting into squares. Let get cold before removing from pan.

Cream Cheese icing for Fruit Cake Cookies
1/2 cup (1 sticks) butter
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 lb. (4 cups) confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon milk


NOTE: Do not use light cream cheese or butter substitute. If margarine is used, icing will be softer.
In a medium mixer bowl cream butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Add sugar and milk. Beat on high until smooth (only 30 seconds to 1 minute). Spread on cookies.
