BANANA BREAD

1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 cup mashed bananas (2 to 3 bananas)
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Cream shortening with sugar. Add mashed bananas and eggs. Sift flour with salt and baking soda; add to cream mixture, alternate with milk, Stir in nuts. Baked in greased loaf pan, 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Turn out on rack and cool; wrap in aluminum foil. (Slices better second day)
