Michael's Birthday - November 16th, 2004

We decided to wait until we (Rocke, Michael, Sylvia and I) went out to the Coast for Thanksgiving to celebrate Michael's birthday. Rocke and I had rented a condo for a 3 day, 2 night mini-vacation for the holiday. Michael and Sylvia came over on Wednesday evening, November 25th. Thursday morning we packed our cars and drove out to the Coast.

When we arrived at Seaside our condo was not ready yet, so we strolled the famed Seaside Promenade and viewed the Lewis and Clark statue at the well-known Seaside turnaround. We then took a stroll on the beach. It was windy, damp and cool on the beach but we all enjoy the beautiful view. The sky was beautiful with the sun trying to sneak into the patches of blue among the fluffy clouds.

We walked back to the condo to see if our unit was ready. It was, so we checked in and we were able to start taking our gear up to the room. After getting things unpacked, we all enjoyed going out on the balcony and taking in the beautiful view from our room.

While the rest of us relaxed, Sylvia busied herself making Michael's birthday cake. Once the cake was done and decorated, it was time to unwrap birthday presents. The traditional singing of "Happy Birthday" to Michael always means time for some cake. What a great way to help Michael celebrate his birthday.
