Megan's 2nd Birthday - August 23, 2005

Saturday, the 13th of August, was another "Big" day. It was the day for us to celebrate Megan's birthday. She turned 2 years old.

We were all looking forward to Megan's 2nd birthday celebration and glad she would be here, in Oregon, for everyone to help her celebrate. On Friday, Mary (Megan's mom) was busy baking and decorating Megan's birthday cake. Mary has become an excellent cake decorator. Click on cake decorator and it will take you to a page where you can see the many pictures of her work.

On Saturday morning, the 13th of August, the actual anniversary of Megan's birth, we all met over at the condo, where Robin, Mary and the girls were staying. It was a beautiful day, so Mary decided to have the party out on the lawn, under some trees at the Residence Inn by Marriott. Robin and Mary had set up a couple of tables to hold the cake and gifts. Before the party began, Mary brought out the cake she had made and decorated. We were all impressed with her decorating talent and the theme for the cake. She had made a two tiered cake with a carasol, separating the two layers. Around the top layer of the cake she had made several cupcakes to go around the top layer. What an awesome idea, as this made it possible for all the little ones to have their own cupcake and for Megan to have the top layer all to herself. Great job, Mary!!

Birthday guests included Robin, Mary, Erin, Kate, Grandma and Grandpa Warren, Ross, Heather, Austin, Sydney, Ryan, Sarah, Kate and Uncle Dave. It was fun to sit around and visit a little before the party began. Alright, alright, Megan has had enough of visiting and it was time for the party to begin. Megan, with the help of her mom, starting opening her birthday gifts. She got a lot of nice, fun and useful things from her Grandma and Grandpa, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

After gifts, it was time to light the candles on the cake and have Megan blow them out. We had fun continuing our visit as we enjoyed the birthday cake. Soon after, everyone ended up back in the condo, where Robin did a few magic tricks for everyone. He did an amazing job and we were all in "awe" at his magic tricks. The look on the kids faces, when Robin performed the tricks were priceless. (also the looks on some of the adults faces were priceless). Thanks, Robin, for the magic show.

What a great birthday celebration!!
