Mary's Birthday - September 11th, 2005

Happy Birthday Roses

Rocke and I spent my birthday weekend in The Dalles, visiting with my son, Michael and daughter-in-law, Sylvia.

Saturday, she and Michael had a cookout and cooked me some of my favorite foods for my birthday. Smoked beef, smoked turkey, potato salad, cold slaw, smoked baked beans, coconut shrimp and fried shrimp. Instead of having a birthday cake this year, Michael baked me a Peach Cobbler. Yummy, everything was so delicious.

Sylvia, Michael and Rocke surprised me with a beautiful bonquet of red roses.

Sunday morning, we went out for a birthday breakfast, then Rocke and I drove back home and relax for the day.

Robin and the girls called me up and sang "Happy Birthday". I was amazed at how well the girls could carry a tune. We just might have some singers in the family? They also sent me an Amazon gift certificate, which I'm going to enjoy spending. Ross and Heather had us over the following weekend for a birthday dinner. The food was delicious and Rocke and I had a wonderful time visiting with Ross and Heather, and playing with Austin and Sydney. What a great evening!

Thanks, everyone, for such a nice birthday celebration.
