Easter - 2005

When Rocke and I were out on the Oregon Coast helping Sylvia and Michael celebrate Sylvia"s birthday, JoAnn called and left a message inviting Rocke and I down to Salem for our tradition of celebating Easter together. Rocke returned her call and we gladly accepted the invitation to join her, George, Ryan, Sarah, and Zach for Easter.

Sunday morning, Rocke and I went down to the First Presbyterian Church in Salem. Ryan was playing the trumpet in the Easter program and we were looking forward to the service as Pastor Rob always has an inspiring message.

After the Easter Service, Ryan rode with Rocke and I to the Burt's home. We met up with George, JoAnn, Sarah and Zach. As always, she had a beautiful Easter dining table set up for our Easter lunch. While waiting for lunch to be readied, we visited and caught with current events.

Then, it was time for us to go downstairs to the family room so Zach could look for his special treats. The first thing Zach noticed was some jelly beans on the coffee table that spelled out his name. He transfered them all to his "goodies" bucket. More searching was rewarded with several other treats and pretty soon, he had a bucket full of goodies.

After Zach found all his goodies, it was time for the grown-ups to find their Easter baskets. Rocke found ours first. What a beautiful basket with a flower and some "yummy" candy to eat. Sarah then found her basket and Ryan, last but not least, found his basket. What fun!! Thanks so much, JoAnn and George.

We returned upstairs so Zach could find his Easter basket. It didn't take him long to spot just where it was. He and Grandma Burt then settled down on the floor to see what other goodies Zach had gotten for Easter.

During the festivities in the living room, George and JoAnn were in the kitchen putting the final touches on lunch. We were all invited to the dining area and seated ourselves around the beautiful dining table JoAnn had decorated. We heartily enjoyed the wonderful meal she had prepared . . . everything was delicious and it seemed like we all ate more then our share.

While the guys relaxed in the living room, JoAnn, Sarah and I cleaned up the dishes and then . . .it was time for dessert! .Mmmm. After dessert, we visited some more and, all too soon, it was time to leave for home.

As always, JoAnn really out did herself again this year. Another wonderful Easter celebration. . . Thanks, JoAnn & George.
